The world’s loss may be Israel’s gain following the decision of the International Monetary Fund not to amend its rules in order to permit the candidacy of Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer to stand for the recent and unscheduled vacancy of its managing director. At 67, Mr Fischer is two years over the limit. He expressed himself disappointed with the decision, on the basis that age should no longer be regarded as a relevant factor in making this important appointment.
Businessmen and visitors to Jerusalem may be unaware that the Bank of Israel is visitor-friendly. You can check out the visitors’ page of its website out here. The Visitors Center is in the Bank of Israel building at Giv’at Ram, 2 Kaplan Street, Jerusalem. The Center and all of its facilities are disabled-accessible.
